Filch blamed Harry and tried to attack him but is stopped by Dumbledore and McGonagall.

Legend has it that the Chamber can only be opened by the Heir of Slytherin, is said to be the home of the creature that will only obey the Heir. Harry suspects Malfoy Heir is. Gilderoy Lockhart, the Defense Against the Dark Arts, offers a dueling club. At the meeting Draco raises snakes, and it turns out Harry can talk to snakes. Hermione explains that Harry is a Parselmouth like Salazar Slytherin, a similarity of the school led to believe Harry is the Heir.

It turns out Lockhart's past is false, it uses a memory-eraser spell witches and take their achievements for themselves.

All three found their way into the Chamber of Secrets Myrtile Moaning in the bathroom, the girl who died the first time when the Chamber was opened). Then they go and find a giant snake skin. After Lockhart feigned fainting, he tried to stop Harry and Ron using a memory-eraser spell. But because he was wearing Ron's wand was broken, the spell backfired and eventually attack itself. Lockhart lost his memory and the cave collapsed, separating Harry and Ron. Harry then finds Ginny. Then Tom Riddle appears, explaining that he is a memory preserved in the diary, as well as Ginny Weasley who opened the Chamber because of hypnotized by it, which sends the basilisk to attack, and that Ginny also writes a message on the wall. Harry learns that Riddle was the Heir of Slytherin and he was in the form of teenage Lord Voldemort. Riddle then issued and sent basilisk to kill Harry. When Harry pushed, bird Phoenix Dumbledore, Fawkes came and attacked the Basilisk's eyes. Fawkes then gave Harry the Sorting Hat, which pulled the sword of Godric Gryffindor Harry. Finally, Harry knew that Lucius who gave the diary to Ginny and Dobby is the Malfoys' house-elf. Then Harry made Lucius gave socks to Dobby who made Dobby finally free of the family. At year-end party, all of the victims posted Basilisk stone back to its original state, and Hagrid received extraordinary acclaim when he returns to Hogwarts.

Differences films with novel :

  • No warning from the Ministry of Magic after Dobby using Mantra Hovering Dursleys house, which almost made Harry expelled from Hogwarts.
  •  Cleaning of garden gnomes removed Weasley family in the film.
  • Harry did not hear the conversation between Lucius and Draco in Knockturn Alley. The scene was actually filmed and included in the 'scene wasted' for the DVD version.
  • There is no fight between Lucius Malfoy and Arthur Weasley in Flourish And Blotts.
  • In the book, Hermione was not upset called "Mudblood", because he does not understand the meaning. But in the film he knew the meaning of the word and very offended.
  • Professor Binns does not appear in the film, therefore, is an explanation of the Chamber of Secrets by Professor McGonagall.
  • Party-Chief Nick Death Warning Nearly Lockhart Valentine Party Disconnect and remove the film.
  • In the film, instead of trying to attack Harry (or Dobby) for causing him to lose Dobby, Lucius Malfoy tries to use the Avada Kedavra curse before Dobby attack, even in the DVD subtitle reads "vera ..". This possibility is JK Rowling's demand not to mention the Curse-not-forgiven before the fourth movie. Lucius certainly not going to kill Harry when they were at Hogwarts, however angry he was, because it would harm his reputation and can make life languishing in Azkaban.
  • In the film, Harry destroys the diary Tom Riddle before Fawkes healed his wounds, and not after. Harry was not sure how the book relates to the memory of Tom Riddle, but he believes that there is a connection. He chose to destroy the book, perhaps for dramatic and heroic, "If I should die, then you also have to die with me."
  • Picture of Ginny who behaves strangely possessed by Tom Riddle result is not in the film, although there is a scene when McGonagall said possible closure of Hogwarts, Ginny looked nervous. On the death of cocks Hagrid did not tell. In the book pointed out that rooster crow fatal to the basilisk, which is why Tom Riddle told Ginny killing chickens.
  • In the book Penelope Clearwater also made petrified, but not in the film (his role is very small, only visible when Percy greets Nick-Head Nearly filim Disconnect at the beginning).
  • In the movie, Hermione can easily find books about dangerous ingredients. In the novel, the book is in the Restricted Section so that Harry, Ron and Hermione have to ask permission from Lockhart to borrow the book. It also led to Madam Pince did not appear in the film.
  • After blinding Fawkes Basilisk, Riddle said in the book brought Basilisk can still smell Harry, while in the film, Harry detect Basilisk through his voice.
  • The reason Ron had not explained in the movie Arachnophobia.
  • Filch is not mentioned as a Squib. Actually, this is important, given in the fifth series will appear unexpected on Squib. However, there is a scene in the DVD extras on this.
  • Hermione did not steal material for Polyjuice potion Snape of closet storage, although there is a 'scene is wasted' on DVD Harry Potter & Goblet of Fire Thr regarding this incident. In the book, Harry and Ron threw the firework into the cauldron Dr.Fillibuster Goyle so Hermione can quietly take these ingredients.
  • Part of diary shortened in the film. Tom is not trying to 'make friends' with Harry.
  • In the novel, Lucius Malfoy in the diary issued socks and throw it to the side. Dobby caught it and said that he was free because his master had given him clothes. In the film, Harry gave the diary to Lucius, Lucius knew that Dobby will be ordered to take him. Then after holding Dobby, Dobby tells Harry to open the diary, and found a sock Dobby. This shows that Malfoy really give it socks, because he did not check it first diary.
  • If observed carefully, clearly when Lucius dropped Riddle diary into Ginny's cauldron in Flourish And Blotts.
